Living Your Passion

I have had a really exciting few weeks. I was a finalist in the Telstra Business Women’s Awards.  The process of going through the application, interview and then the awards was incredibly affirming and reinforced for me how passionate I am about my work.

The following week I was a guest speaker at the Australian Women of the Year Association. I spoke about my life and finding Helmut, defining moments, gratitude and celebrating our lives.

Again, it was a wonderful time to reflect and acknowledge what is important to me and what I am passionate about.

Last weekend I spoke at the Rotary Club of Cooma’s 60th Birthday celebration gala dinner.  I spoke on motivation – having a huge “why” that inspires and challenges us to be more than we thought we could be.

All of these events had a common thread – that life is amazing when we are living out passion and purpose. In a nut shell – What inspires us to get out of bed in the morning?

What are we passionate about?

Recently I was reading an article by Janet Bray Atwood and Chris Attwood this week. They say that our passions are the pipelines to our soul.  When we are connected tour passions we are happy, self-motivated, fulfilled, engaged and worthwhile.

All successful people have passion

and have learned to make decisions

based on what really matters to them.

They follow their hearts.

The questions they ask to help people find their passion are fun and interesting so I thought I would share them with you today.

Passion Test Directions:

  1. Spend a few minutes considering each of the open ended statements in the table below.
  2. Write your answers to each statement in the appropriate box as honestly as you can.
  3. Trim your list to the top 5 boxes by comparing each one and choosing the ones that would make your feel most fulfilled. Then trim those to your top number 1 passion.

The Passion Test Questions

Einstein said, “I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious”.

As always, I am thrilled when you share with me your outcomes and musings so please let me know how you go.
